Meet Jennifer Hobbs Zahn
Jennifer Hobbs Zahn was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1951. Though Southern in her roots, she has called the Midwest home for the past 25 years.
An elementary teacher for 38 years, Jennifer has always had a special love for children. Throughout her teaching career, she enjoyed telling stories about her family, friends, and pets as a way to introduce new ideas and help children understand important concepts.
That Old Barn was written for her grandson and is Jennifer’s first book.
About the Book
One day, Little Guy and Nana went out for a drive. Along the way, they passed an old barn that looked sad and worn down. Inside, they could see an unhappy old tractor that seemed to long for the chance to be useful again.
Little Guy began asking Nana to drive by the barn every day after school. As he noticed the barn and tractor more and more, he began to care for them in his own special way. He prayed that they would both be saved.
That Old Barn is a gentle children’s story about kindness, faith, and compassion. It shows how a young child’s caring heart can remind us all to notice the forgotten, love deeply, and hope sincerely.
